Orlando City Youth Soccer teams play in several leagues, both in the Central Florida area and statewide. These leagues vary depending on age group and level of play.
U.S. Soccer Development Academy
Created in 2007, the development academy was established to primarily focus on youth player development in the United States. The league consisted of 64 elite youth soccer clubs from around the country in its inaugural season. Each team is comprised by geographic proximity, with two age groups (U-15/16 & U-17/18). These 64 teams were divided into eight conferences with each team playing approximately 30 home and away matches during an eight-month season. Currently in its fifth season, the program has expanded to 78 clubs competing in geographically-based divisions. Although some attributes have changed during the past four seasons, the basic mission and principles remain intact: increased focus on training, meaningful competition and a providing a direct connection to U.S. National Team programming.
The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) was founded in 2009 to enhance the developmental experience of female youth soccer players in the United States through:
- Improving the competitive environment through creation of a true national competitive league with multiple flights.
- Improving the process for identifying elite female soccer players for the U.S. Soccer youth national teams through a systematic scouting and identification program based on national competitions.
- Improving the daily training environment at top female youth soccer clubs through developing best practices and training and organizational guidelines for its member clubs.

Founded in 1999, the Super Y-League is dedicated to the progression of future professional players. Affiliated with US Soccer, the Super Y-League ODP Program has opened countless doors for players to be identified for U.S. National Team Programs. The Super Y-League contains the youth academies of Major League Soccer clubs, USL PRO clubs, Premier Development League and W-League clubs. Top youth academies such as Weston FC, Mass Premier Soccer and TSF Academy have been members of the league for several seasons. USL’s Super Y-League has revolutionized youth player development in North America.
The goal of Super Y is to field the most competitive teams possible in the U12-U17 age groups. The Super Y League operates independently from FYSA and does not affect a player’s current or future club affiliation.
The Seminole Soccer League
The Seminole Soccer League is Orlando City Youth Soccer’s own league, hosted at Seminole Soccer Complex. The SSL is a step up from the Greater Central Florida League (GCF) and is designed for competitive purple and white teams in the, U11-U19 age groups, who are in preparation for State and Region Cup.
Within the SSL is the Youth Developement League (YDL), which is also hosted at Seminole Soccer Complex.
The YDL is designed for teams in the U8-U12 age groups and was created for proper youth development and flexibility of schedules, to ensure that competitive games are provided. Many youth leagues are fixed once the sesason begins, and as a result causes players to not develop properly if they are placed in the wrong bracket.
On the other hand, the YDL is designed by the coaches and directors from the teams that are involved in the league. Clubs that are a part of this league are like-minded, in terms of their philosophy on development, and enjoy the purpose behind the YDL. YDL teams, coaches and clubs truly belive in player development as opposed to the final score.
The YDL also offres special jamborees throughout the year to invite other clubs to participate in a fun-filled weekend of soccer, without the stress and cost of a full tournament. Since its inception, the YDL has continued to grow and gain attention from outside clubs.
