CASL Tournament Recap
OCYS at the CASL Tournament

OCYS recently sent five of their top boys’ teams to compete in the CASL tournament, one of the top tournaments in the nation. OCYS teams played against premier competition from across the nation and were impressive throughout the weekend, with each team finishing either first or second in their respective groups.

The U15 White squad, coached by Kerri Brimmo and Paul Pulido, had two wins and a loss and finished second in their group. They played extremely well and kept possession of the ball for the majority of each game, while still going forward and finishing well.  They defended with strength, giving up only four goals in bracket play while still scoring 12. Great job U15 Whites!

The OCYS U17 White team finished second in their group by going 1-1-1 for the event.  They tied a very tough Lonestar team 1-1 and also beat the Virginia Rush along the
way 2-0.  The event was a huge success as they had over 25 college coaches
check in to watch their games at CASL.  The U17 Whites are also coached by Kerri Brimmo.

Although they had a few injured players heading into the tournament, the U16 White team still managed to impress with help from a couple guest players. The White squad defeated and tied notable teams from North Carolina and suffered their only loss to West Florida Flames. They competed until the final whistle in each game, battling hard every minute and through every match. Hats off and great job to the OCYS U16 White team, coached by Tim Roberts.

The U17 Purple team went undefeated and finished 1st in their group.  They gave
up one goal in three games by playing great defense and possessing the ball. The highlight of their tournament featured the U17’s defeating Lonestar, Texas State Champions, by a score of 4-0. The trip was terrific as the boys had over 40 college coaches stop by to see their first two games. Congratulations to the U17 boys coached by Bobby Sauer.
